Because learning to dive in various courses makes you passionate about the beauty of the underwater world, we would like to introduce the EFR or Emergency First Response course. This will help you become a guru in the underwater realm and train you to improve your skills in handling underwater situations more effectively.

Emergency First Response Overview
Emergency First Response is another important course that PADI recognizes as essential for every diver. It is designed for basic first aid in unexpected situations that may arise, including diving accidents such as drowning. The benefits of taking this course enable individuals to effectively assist patients in various situations that we may encounter in daily life. The duration of this course is approximately 6-7 hours.

The PADI Emergency First Response (EFR) course is a comprehensive first aid and CPR training program recognized worldwide and essential for divers and non-divers alike. It is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and practical skills needed to respond confidently and effectively to life-threatening emergencies and non-life-threatening injuries.
Course Structure and Standards:
The course is divided into two main parts:
Primary Care (CPR) focuses on life-threatening conditions, teaching Basic Life Support (BLS), CPR techniques, rescue breathing, management of shock, spinal injuries, severe bleeding, and airway obstructions. Participants practice CPR on adult and child mannequins and use AED simulators.
Secondary Care (First Aid) covers first aid for non-life-threatening injuries, including bandaging, splinting, recovery position, and treatment of burns, scrapes, and allergic reactions, aiming to ease pain and prevent further harm.
The EFR course follows internationally recognized emergency care guidelines, including protocols from the Basic Life Support (BLS) Working Group of the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) and meets various regional regulatory requirements such as CAL-OSHA CPR standards.
The course includes knowledge development, skill practice, realistic scenario drills, and a final exam to ensure competence in emergency care.
It is a prerequisite for advanced PADI courses like Rescue Diver, Divemaster, and Instructor courses, and certification must be current (usually within the last 24 months) to meet PADI standards.
The training emphasizes hands-on practice with qualified instructors, excluding online-only or self-study programs without practical skill demonstration.
The course duration is approximately 6-7 hours, typically completed in one day.
Benefits:
Enables participants to confidently provide emergency care in diving-related incidents such as drowning and other medical emergencies encountered in daily life.
Builds skills to assess, anticipate, and manage emergencies safely and effectively until professional medical help arrives.
Certification is globally recognized and valid for two years.
This thorough training ensures divers and non-divers alike are prepared to act decisively in emergencies, meeting PADI’s high standards for safety and professionalism in emergency response.
